The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a now fatal collision that occurred in late December in Glenarden. The deceased driver is identified as 46-year-old Anson Derrington of Washington, DC.
On December 27, 2022, at approximately 6:00 pm,
officers responded to the intersection of Brightseat Road and Mclain Avenue for a collision involving
two vehicles.
The preliminary investigation revealed Derrington
was traveling southbound on Brightseat Road, when for reasons that remain
under investigation, his pickup truck crossed the double yellow lines, struck
another vehicle and a utility pole. Derrington died of his injuries on January
6, 2023.
