Fatal Shooting Under Investigation

Homicide Unit detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Sunday afternoon in the unincorporated section of Laurel. The victim is 20-year-old Kidane Fletcher of Laurel. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.

On April 9, 2023, at approximately 4:35 pm, patrol officers were called to the 13300 block of Edinburgh Lane for a shooting. When they arrived, officers discovered Fletcher inside a building suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene. A second victim, an adult male, was also shot. He is currently in critical condition.

 

Detectives are working to identify a suspect(s) and a motive.
