The Homicide Unit is working to identify and arrest the suspect(s) who fatally shot a man Wednesday night. The victim is 32-year-old Joe Louis Washington of Brandywine. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
On
May 31, 2023, at approximately 8:45 pm, officers with the Seat Pleasant Police
Department responded to the 6000 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Highway for
the report of a shooting. Once on scene they located Mr. Washington outside suffering
from a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead
a short time later. Two additional adult males were also shot and arrived at a
local hospital. Their injuries are non-life threatening.
Detectives
are working to identify a suspect(s) and a motive.
PGPD
investigates all homicides in the city of Seat Pleasant.
