Homicide Unit detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Thursday. The victim is 26-year-old Jawaun Jackson of Washington, DC. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
On September 19, 2024, at approximately 8:45 pm, officers responded to the 2900 block of 52nd Avenue for the report of a male in the roadway. Once on scene, they located Jackson suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
Investigators are now working to determine when and where the shooting occurred as well as determine a motive and identify a suspect(s).
