PGPD's Inspector General Sits on ABA Panel




Prince George’s County Police Department Inspector General Carlos Acosta was a featured panel presenter for the American Bar Association Government and Public Sector Lawyers Division’s Continuing Legal Education teleconference (CLE) entitled “Legal Issues Involving Inspectors General: Representing Your Client.”  The event took place September 12th.

During the 90-minute program, panelists discussed how Inspectors General offices work, how they coordinate with other governmental offices at the federal, state and local level, and how they interact with designated agency ethics officials.  Panelists discussed how to best represent subjects of an IG investigation.  Finally, the panelists reviewed issues involving how OIGs handle attorney client privilege disputes.
