Media Advisory: PGPD Homicide Detectives to Distribute Flyers in Murder of Geraldine McIntyre

The Prince George's County Police Department is investigating the murder of 71 year-old Geraldine Joyce McIntyre of the 1200 block of Chapel Oaks Drive in Capitol Heights.

On February 9, 2013, around 3:00 pm, police officers responded to the 1200 block of Chapel Oaks Drive for a welfare check call. Upon arrival, police officers found McIntyre suffering from trauma to the body. She was taken to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

Detectives are following up on an investigative development which led to the description of a possible suspect in this murder.  That suspect is described as a black male, 5'7"-5'9", approximately 30-45 years old, with a slim build and dark complexion.  The suspect may have been wearing a dark brown or black leather jacket, black skull cap, black pants, and may have been carrying a black bag.

Detectives will engage community members and distribute Crime Solvers flyers in the Chapel Oaks neighborhood this afternoon.  Members of the media are encouraged to attend.  Public Information Officer Cpl. Larry Johnson will be on site available for interviews.
