PGPD Arrests Suspect in Fort Washington Burglary

The Prince George's County Police Department arrested a suspect in connection with the burglary of a home in Fort Washington.    

The suspect is identified as 23 year-old Brian Keith Whitaker of the 1500 block of Butler Street in Southeast Washington.  Whitaker admitted his involvement in the burglary to Prince George’s County police detectives.  He is charged with first degree breaking and entering and related charges. Whitaker is currently in the custody of the Department of Corrections on a $73,500 bond.

On February 12, 2013, around 10:50 pm, police officers responded to the 8400 block of Rose Marie Drive for a shooting. The investigation reveals the homeowner had just returned home when he interrupted a burglary in progress.  The homeowner was confronted by one suspect who he shot and killed.  That suspect has been identified as 20 year-old Jon Adgrain Pocknett of Indian Head.

During the course of the investigation, detectives learned that a handgun had been stolen during the burglary.  The handgun has been recovered.
