PGPD to Host Annual Police Explorer Banquet

Prince George’s County Police Chief Mark Magaw and members of the command staff will attend the 2nd Annual Police Officer First Class Adrian Morris Memorial Law Enforcement Explorers Award Banquet.   The banquet was renamed in honor of Police Officer First Class Morris who was killed in the line of duty on August 20, 2012 (http://goo.gl/JmIJT).  POFC Morris was a former Police Explorer before joining the PGPD and maintained his close ties with the program throughout his career.

Law Enforcement Exploring is a worksite-based program for young men and women who are interested in careers in law enforcement.

Current Police Explorers and their advisors will also be honored at the banquet for their service to the community.  During 2012, the six Explorer Posts completed 6,000 hours of community service.

Members from the media are invited to attend.  For more information, call the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Media Relations Division at (301) 772-4710.
