PGPD Finds High Number of Improperly Installed Child Car Seats

The Prince George’s County Police Department conducted a car seat check in Mount Rainier hosted by the Prince George’s Community Federal Credit Union on Wednesday, March 13, 2013.

Parents and guardians were invited to get their children's car seats or boosters inspected for proper usage.  Of those inspected, technicians discovered that 90 percent were incorrectly installed or had been recalled by the manufacturers.

Ensuring that children travel safely is a priority for the PGPD.  Three more car seat checks are already scheduled.  Several more will be added to this list.  Please mark your calendars.
