PGPD Investigates Fatal Pedestrian Collision in Temple Hills


Updated March 15, 2013:  The victim is identified as 1-year-old Sherrik Farmer of the 1500 block of Southview Drive in Oxon Hill.

The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision in Temple Hills.

On March 14, 2013, at approximately 5:00 pm, patrol officers responded to the 5100 block of St. Barnabas Road for the report of a pedestrian struck.  Once on scene, patrol officers discovered that an adult male and a young child had been struck by a vehicle.  Both victims were taken to a local hospital where the one-year-old child was pronounced dead.  The adult victim is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The preliminary investigation reveals that two adults were walking on the sidewalk with the child in a stroller when the collision occurred.  The second adult was not hurt.  The driver remained on the scene.  The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating the cause of the collision.
