PGPD Investigates Murder in Largo


The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a murder in Largo. The victim is identified as 21-year-old Joshua Mahoney Barnes of the unit block of Sherman Circle in Northwest Washington. 

On June 2, 2013 at approximately 12:45 am, patrol officers responded to the 10100 block of Campus Way South for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, patrol officers found Barnes suffering from a gunshot wound. Barnes succumbed to his injuries on June 14, 2013.

The preliminary investigation reveals Barnes and an acquaintance were sitting inside a parked vehicle when an unknown suspect(s) fired multiple times into the vehicle. 

Detectives are working to establish suspect(s) and a motive in the murder. A cash reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
