PGPD Investigating Fatal Crash; Driver Flees Scene


The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a fatal crash in Temple Hills.  Detectives are also searching for one of the drivers who ran from the scene.
On June 12, 2013, at approximately 9:45 pm, patrol officers responded to the intersection of Saint Barnabas Road and Temple Hill Road for the report of a collision.  The preliminary investigation reveals an SUV travelling on Temple Hill Road and a minivan on Saint Barnabas Road collided in the intersection.  The female driver of the SUV fled the crash scene.

A young child in the minivan was pronounced dead at a hospital.  She is identified as seven-year-old Azarya Johnson of the 2900 block of Brinkley Road in Temple Hills.  A second child and the adult driver in the minivan suffered non-life threatening injuries.  An adult passenger in the SUV also suffered non-life threatening injuries. He remained on scene.
