PGPD Announces Joint Effort To Combat Domestic Violence

Prince George's County Police Chief Mark Magaw teamed with County Executive Rushern Baker, State's Attorney Angela Alsobrooks, Sheriff Melvin High and community partners on Wednesday, October 16, 2013, to announce a county-wide effort to raise awareness about domestic violence and the help number available for those affected by it - 211.  The county leaders discussed the newly-formed PGPD Domestic Violence Unit. The goal is for citizens affected by domestic violence to know they're not alone and that there are options where they can safely seek help.  The announcement took place in the courtyard at the Hyattsville Courthouse at 5000 Rhode Island Avenue.
