PGPD Investigates Workplace Accident in Capitol Heights

The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a fatal workplace accident in Capitol Heights.

On October 24, 2013, at about 10:00 am, patrol officers were called to a business in the 2100 block of Kenilworth Avenue for a report of a pedestrian struck. When they arrived, they discovered an employee had been struck by a dump truck driven by a second employee on company grounds.

The preliminary investigation reveals the dump truck driver did not see the second employee and struck the victim. The victim was pronounced dead at a local hospital. Preliminarily, this appears to be an accident. No foul play is suspected.
