PGPD Investigates Fatal Pedestrian Collision in Forestville

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision in Forestville.  The deceased is identified as 52-year-old Eugene Crawford Anderson of the 9900 block of Greenbelt Road in Lanham.

On November 26, 2013, at about 6:15 am, patrol officers were called to Pennsylvania Avenue near Forestville Road. When they arrived, they discovered a pedestrian had been struck by a pickup truck.  Anderson died of his injuries several hours later at a hospital.

The preliminary investigation reveals the pickup driver struck Anderson as he was exiting southbound Interstate 495 to merge onto northbound Pennsylvania Avenue.  Anderson was apparently in the roadway and was wearing dark clothing.  It was raining at the time of the collision.  The driver stayed on the scene.

Speed is not considered a factor in this collision.
