PGPD Investigates Homicide in Landover



Updated November 25, 2013: The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is actively investigating this murder. At this time, there is no information about a suspect(s) or motive in this case that can be released. There is a combined reward of up to $125,000 available courtesy of the United States Postal Service and Crime Solvers for information leading to an arrest and indictment of the responsible suspect(s).  We will continue to provide any updates via @PGPDNews and our other social media sites.


The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a homicide in Landover. The victim is identified as 26-year-old Tyson Jerome Barnette of the 14000 block of Lord Marlborough Place in Upper Marlboro.  He was a U.S. Postal Service employee, on duty at the time of the murder.

On November 23, 2013, at about 7:20 pm, patrol officers were called to the 1600 block of Reed Street for a shooting.  When they arrived, they found an adult male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Detectives are working to identify the suspect(s) and motive in this case.
