Media Advisory: PGPD to Revisit Suitland Community in Murder Investigation

Detectives Also Release Video of Potential Witnesses

Prince George’s County Police detectives will revisit the Suitland community where a man was shot and killed late last month. They will pass out Crime Solvers flyers seeking information in the murder of 27-year-old Maurice Featherson of Northeast Washington. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.

In addition to the canvass, detectives today released this video of four potential witnesses to the murder. We are seeking our community’s help in identifying them. Detectives believe these four people may have critical information in this case.

Here are the details of today’s canvass:

When: TODAY: Wednesday, May 28, 2014

Time: 1:00 pm

Where: 3300 block of Curtis Drive
             Suitland, MD

On April 25, 2014, at about 7:30 pm, patrol officers were called to the 3300 block of Curtis Drive for the report of a shooting. When they arrived, they found Featherson suffering from a gunshot wound outside in a parking lot. He later died of his injuries. Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a random shooting.

Anyone with information about this murder is asked to call the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit at 301-772-4925. Callers wishing to remain anonymous may call Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477), text “PGPD plus your message” to CRIMES (274637) on your cell phone or go to www.pgcrimesolvers.comand submit a tip online.
