PGPD Makes Quick Arrest in Langley Park Murder

 Mynor Vargas-Salguero

The Prince George’s County Police Department arrested a suspect today in connection with Wednesday’s murder in Langley Park. The suspect is 25-year-old Mynor Vargas-Salguero of the 7900 block of Riggs Road in Langley Park.

On September 3, 2014, at about 4:00 am, patrol officers were called to the 8000 block of 15th Avenue for an unresponsive man in the street. When they arrived, they found 32-year-old Miguel Angel Barillas suffering from an apparent stab wound. Barillas was pronounced dead on the scene.

Detectives believe Vargas-Salguero stabbed Barillas during a robbery.  The investigation reveals Vargas-Salguero robbed Barillas of his cell phone.  Detectives arrested Vargas-Salguero at his home early this morning.

Vargas-Salguero is charged with first-degree murder and armed robbery.  He remains in custody with the Department of Corrections.
