PGPD Identifies Victim in Fatal Crash in Accokeek

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal crash in Accokeek. The victim is 60-year-old John Michael Rittenhouse of Bealle Hill Road in Waldorf. 

On May 30, 2015, at about 1:00 am, patrol officers were called to the intersection of Indian Head Highway at The Mall for the report of a crash involving two cars. When they arrived, they found Rittenhouse suffering from critical injuries. He was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver of the second car suffered non-life threatening injuries. 

Preliminarily, it appears Rittenhouse was trying to make a left turn into The Mall when he was hit by a car heading northbound on Indian Head Highway.
