PGPD Investigates Fatal Pedestrian Collision in Riverdale Park

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision in Riverdale Park. The victim is 54-year-old Juan Samora-Sanchez of 55th Place in Riverdale.

On November 2, 2015, at about 6:15 pm, patrol officers were called to the intersection of Kenilworth Avenue and Madison Street for a collision involving a pedestrian. When they arrived, the officers found Samora-Sanchez in the roadway suffering from critical injuries. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The preliminary investigation reveals Samora-Sanchez was trying to cross Kenilworth Avenue when a car struck him. The driver remained on scene. The victim was not in a crosswalk.
