Detectives to Canvass Suitland Neighborhood in Homicide Investigation


The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit will canvass a Suitland neighborhood this afternoon where a man was shot on Tuesday.

On December 29, 2015, at about 5:50 am, patrol officers were called to the 2300 block of Brooks Drive for a shooting. When they arrived, they found the victim, 51-year-old Nathaniel Powell Jr., in a parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound. He died of his injuries the next day.

Detectives will pass out Crime Solvers flyers seeking information in this investigation. The canvass is scheduled to begin at 2:00 pm in the 2300 block of Brooks Drive. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered in this case.
