Arrest Warrant Issued for Suspect in Double Stabbing in District Heights

Christian Dillard
Detectives have obtained an arrest warrant for a District Heights man for stabbing his two young children in the family's home Saturday night. The suspect is 25-year-old Christian Dillard of the 1700 block of Dennis Court. Preliminarily, the injuries to the two victims do not appear life-threatening.

Patrol officers were called to the home on Saturday night at about 10:00 pm for the report of the stabbings. The two children, both under the age of five, were rushed to the hospital for treatment. They remain hospitalized and are currently in stable condition. No other family members who were home at the time were hurt. The suspect was on the scene when our officers arrived and was taken for an emergency evaluation. He has since been released and is now in custody of the Department of Corrections.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Dillard in connection with stabbing his children. He's charged with attempted first degree murder, assault and related charges. Dillard has also been charged with sexually assaulting a woman who lives in the family's home earlier in the day. Dillard and the victim had a prior romantic relationship. Following the sexual assault, Dillard fled before officers arrived. A neighborhood canvass was unsuccessful. Detectives investigated throughout the day and obtained an arrest warrant for Dillard in that case last night which was then sent to our fugitive squad. The investigation reveals the suspect returned home earlier in the evening. The children were in the care of family members who were also home at the time.
