Detectives Investigate Homicide in Capitol Heights

Detectives are investigating an early morning homicide in Capitol Heights. The victim is 27-year-old Rayshand Lee Cotton of Sheriff Road in Landover. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.

On December 19th, at about 9:50 am, a citizen flagged down a patrol officer after seeing the victim on the ground in the 1100 block of Brooke Road. The victim was suffering from severe burns and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives are working to identify a suspect(s) and motive in this case. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
