PGPD Investigating Fatal Collision in Brandywine

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal crash in Brandywine Thursday night. The victim is 57-year-old Sidney Douglas of Horsehead Road in Brandywine, MD.

On August 30th, at approximately 11:25 pm, patrol officers were called to the 13400 block of Missouri Avenue near Crain Highway for the report of a collision involving two vehicles.

The preliminary investigation reveals Douglas, along with two passengers was driving eastbound on Missouri Avenue when for reasons which remain under investigation, his vehicle collided with another car traveling westbound on Missouri Avenue. After the initial collision, his vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. Douglas was pronounced dead on scene. His two passengers were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the second car, an adult male, sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
