PGPD Arrests Suspect in Oxon Hill Fatal Shooting

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit identified and charged a man in connection to a fatal shooting in July in Oxon Hill. The suspect is 45-year-old Daniel William Jackson of Washington, DC. He is charged with the murder of 31-year-old Deon Damien Thomas of Washington, DC.

On July 12, 2025, at approximately 8:20 pm, officers responded to a shooting in the 5100 block of Indian Head Highway in Oxon Hill. Officers located Thomas outside suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The motive for this fatal shooting remains under investigation.

The PGPD’s Fugitive Unit located and arrested Jackson on Thursday. He is charged with first and second degree murder and additional charges and is in the custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.
