Police Investigate Homicide on Brightseat Road

Prince George’s County, Maryland…The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating the homicide of 17 year-old Brandon Lee Wiggins in Landover, Maryland.    

On March 31, 2012, at approximately 1:00 a.m., patrol officers located Wiggins in the 1600 block of Brightseat Road suffering from a gunshot wound.  Wiggins, of the 6300 block of Skillman Street, Capitol Heights, Maryland, was pronounced dead on the scene. 

Preliminary investigation revealed that Wiggins was involved in a gun battle with another individual during what is believed to be a robbery attempt.  Detectives are investigating the possibility that this robbery attempt was drug-related.  The shooter has been identified and is cooperating with investigators.
