PGPD Deploys Extra Specialty Patrol Officers & Detectives to Focus Areas

     The Prince George's County Police Department continues its Transforming Neighborhoods Initiative (TNI) efforts with its second intensive nighttime deployment blitz of the summer.  Specialized patrol officers and detectives will saturate the County's six focus areas for the next two weeks during the evening and early morning hours.  These focus areas are: Langley Park, East Riverdale/Bladensburg, Suitland/Coral Hills, Kentland/Palmer Park, Hillcrest Heights/Marlow Heights, and Glassmanor/Oxon Hill.  The kickoff briefing at headquarters will feature Major Joe McCann (Commander, Special Enforcement Division) and other operational commanders as the PGPD embarks on an overt mission to sustain the homicide and other crime reductions of 2012.  Major McCann and other commanders will be available for questions before and after the roll call.
