PGPD Investigates Murder in Forestville

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating the murder of 23-year-old Deandre Yates in Forestville.

On August 15, 2012, at approximately 1:50 a.m., patrol officers responded to the 6100 block of Surrey Square Lane for a call of an unknown trouble. Upon arrival, officers discovered Yates, of 6100 block of Surrey Square Lane fatally shot inside the apartment residence.

The preliminary investigation reveals an unknown suspect forced entry into the apartment residence. The victim and suspect exchanged gunfire, and the suspect fled. Yates is identified as a promoter for Total Control Band (TCB). Detectives are currently working to identify a suspect(s) and motive in this case.
