PGPD Assistant Chief Kevin Davis Attends White House Gun Control Event

Prince George’s County Police Assistant Chief Kevin Davis led a PGPD delegation today to a gun control event hosted by Vice President Joe Biden and Attorney General Eric Holder.  In their remarks, Vice President Biden and Attorney General Holder urged Congress to pass stricter gun control legislation.

Assistant Chief Davis was joined by Lt. Scott Finn, Sgt. James Davis and the District III Special Assignment Team.  The team took 207 guns off the streets of Prince George’s County in 2011 and 2012.  “The abundant accessibility of firearms in our community undermines public safety and puts police officers at risk.  Mandated background checks offer an opportunity to keep firearms out of the hands of persons with violent criminal histories and documented/diagnosed mental illnesses.” said Assistant Chief Davis.

The event took place at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building in Washington, DC.  For more information, please contact the Prince George’s County Police Media Relations Division at 301-772-4710.
