Detectives Arrest Suspect in Forestville Homicide

The Homicide Unit has arrested a suspect in connection with a homicide in Forestville on Sunday. The suspect is 27-year-old Keenan Savoy Fitzgerald of the 4600 block of Dallas Place in Temple Hills. He’s charged with fatally stabbing 50-year-old Emmanuel Sutton of Good Hope Court in Southeast DC.

On October 9, 2016, at about 2:45 am, patrol officers were called to the 7800 block of Parston Drive for a stabbing. They found Sutton outside suffering from trauma to the upper body. Sutton was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The preliminary investigation reveals the suspect was involved in a physical altercation with another man. Sutton attempted to break up the dispute when he was stabbed by the suspect.

Fitzgerald is charged with first and second degree murder. He is in the custody of the Department of Corrections.
