Prince George’s County Police Department Homicide Unit detectives identified and charged two suspects in connection with a homicide in Riverdale Park late last month. The suspects are 19-year-old Marquise Dinkins of the 1000 block of Holbrook Terrace in Washington and 30-year-old Charles Howard Davis of the 500 block of Emerson Street in Bladensburg. They’re charged in connection with the fatal shooting of 26-year-old Cesar Bazan of 69th Place in Landover Hills.

On July 26th, at about 8:30 pm, patrol officers with the Riverdale Park Police Department responded to the 5500 block of 54th Avenue for a shooting. When they arrived, the officers discovered Bazan outside suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital where he died a short time later.

The preliminary investigation reveals the suspects and victim got into an argument before the shooting.

Dinkins is in custody in the District of Columbia awaiting extradition to Prince George’s County. Davis is in custody of the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections on a no-bond status. Both are charged with first and second degree murder.

The Prince George’s County Police Department investigates all homicides in Riverdale Park.
