PGPD Investigating Fatal Collision in Palmer Park

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal collision in Palmer Park on Sunday. The victim is 39-year-old Dave Hughes of Benning Road in Southeast Washington. 
 
On October 21st, at approximately 3:45 am, patrol officers were called to Matthew Henson Avenue and Landover Road for a fatal collision involving two cars.  

The preliminary investigation reveals Hughes was heading westbound on Matthew Henson Avenue approaching Landover Road when he attempted to cross over the southbound lanes of Landover Road. His car collided with a Nissan heading southbound on Landover Road. Hughes was pronounced dead on the scene. The passenger in Hughes’ car and the driver of the Nissan suffered serious but what preliminarily appear to be non-life-threatening injuries.
