Missing Teen Found


UPDATE: May 8, 2019: Karen has been located in good health.

The Prince George’s County Police Department is seeking the public’s help in finding a missing teen. She is identified as 13-year-old Karen Lainez Zelaya. She was last seen in the 3300 block of Randall Road in Suitland at approximately 6:40 am on April 24, 2019.

Karen is described as a hispanic female, 5’3” tall, 120 pounds. She was last seen wearing khaki pants, white polo shirt, and white shoes.

Detectives Investigating Fatal Shooting in Landover


The Homicide Unit has assumed the investigation into a shooting earlier this week in Landover. A man who was shot during that incident died of his injuries early this morning. The decedent is 23-year-old Tauron Williamson of Livingston Road in Oxon Hill.  

On April 22nd, at approximately 9:00 pm, patrol officers responded to the 3200 block of 75th Avenue for the report of a shooting. Williamson and a second man were located outside of an apartment building suffering from gunshot wounds. They were both taken to a hospital for treatment of critical injuries.

Detectives are working to arrest and charge the suspect(s) in this case.

Armed Robbery Suspect



Our Robbery Unit detectives are investigating a robbery at a store in the 6000 block of Annapolis Road in Landover Hills. This suspect was armed with a handgun when he demanded money from employees. The robbery took place on April 17th at approximately 8:15 pm. Please take a close look at this suspect and call if you have any information. Convenience Store Armed Robbery


This suspect pulled out a gun and demanded cash at a convenience store in the 6000 block of Auth Road in Suitland. He targeted the store on April 18th at approximately 2:10 am. Bike Shop Theft Investigation

Laundromat Robbery




And finally, detectives are working to identify these two robbery suspects. The suspects committed an armed robbery at a laundromat in the 5000 block of Eastern Avenue in Chillum. PGPD Investigating Fatal Shooting on Sunday



The Homicide Unit is actively working to identify and arrest the suspect(s) who shot and killed a man early Sunday morning in Kettering. The victim is 22-year-old Marcelle Preston of Kylie Place. Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a random crime.

On April 21st, at approximately 12:20 am, patrol officers responded to the 100 block of Kylie Place for the report of a shooting. They located the victim outside of his home suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Detectives are working to identify the suspect(s) and determine a motive.

PGPD Investigating Fatal Crash on Sheriff Road Near Fairmount Heights

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a single-vehicle crash that left the four occupants dead. This crash occurred at approximately 10:30 pm in the 5800 block of Sheriff Road.
 
The victims are identified as 35-year-old Samuel Moss of James Farmer Way in Capitol Heights, 24-year-old Shyra Harris of Lorring Drive in District Heights, 27-year-old Antonio Price also of Lorring Drive and 21-year-old Jasmine Davis of Mentor Avenue in District Heights.
 
The investigation into this collision will likely take weeks to months to complete. The preliminary investigation is suggesting the SUV was westbound on Sheriff Road approaching a car that was making a left turn. The driver of the involved SUV swerved to go around that car and lost control. The SUV struck a curb, rolled over and ultimately struck an electrical pole. Two of the occupants were ejected from the SUV.
 
Preliminary, investigators are looking at speed as a possible major contributing factor in this crash.

Detectives Arrest Suspect in Fort Washington Homicide

Homicide Unit detectives arrested a suspect in connection with a homicide that took place in Fort Washington last week. The suspect is 22-year-old Ulises Bonilla of the 5600 block of Fargo Avenue in Oxon Hill. Bonilla is charged with fatally shooting 19-year-old Timothy Rojas of Temple Hills.

On April 12th, at approximately 11:00 pm, patrol officers responded to the 1500 block of Tucker Road. They located the victim outside suffering from a gunshot wound. He died a short time later at a hospital.
 
The preliminary investigation reveals the suspect shot the victim during a drug-related dispute. He is charged with first and second degree murder and related charges. He’s in the custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.

Detectives Arrest Suspect in December Homicide

Homicide Unit detectives arrested a suspect in connection with a homicide in Temple Hills that took place in December. The suspect is 23-year-old Donnell Cato of the 4600 block of Birchtree Lane in Temple Hills. He is charged with fatally shooting 25-year-old Brian Crayton. Jr, of Rock Lynn Circle in Waldorf.
 
On December 1, 2018, at about 2:15 am, patrol officers were called to the 4000 block of Birchtree Lane in Temple Hills for the report of a shooting. When they arrived, officers found Crayton suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
 
The preliminary investigation reveals the fatal shooting stemmed from an on-going dispute among acquaintances. 
 
Cato is charged with first and second degree murder and related charges. He is currently in custody in Washington, DC awaiting extradition to Prince George’s County.

Detectives Arrest Suspect in Fatal Shooting in Suitland

The Homicide Unit identified and arrested the suspect wanted in connection with a recent fatal shooting in Suitland. The suspect is 20-year-old Malik Edouard. His last known address is in the 3300 block of Huntley Square Drive in Temple Hills. He’s charged with fatally shooting 23-year-old Kevin Givens of Upsal Street in Southeast Washington.
 
On April 10th, at approximately 6:50 pm, patrol officers were called to the 3200 block of Ryan Drive for the report of a suspicious vehicle. Officers discovered Givens inside of the car suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
 
The preliminary investigation reveals the suspect and victim met through mutual acquaintances. The motive for the fatal shooting remains under investigation.
 
The suspect is charged with first and second degree murder and additional charges. He is in the custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.

Weekend Homicide in Suitland Under Investigation

Homicide Unit detectives are investigating a fatal shooting in Suitland early Sunday morning. The victim is 22-year-old Derrell White of Kendrick Road in Suitland. Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a random crime.
 
On April 14th, at approximately 3:10 am, patrol officers were called to the 3500 block of Maywood Lane. They located two shooting victims inside of a home. White was pronounced dead on the scene. The second shooting victim suffered what appear to be non-life-threatening injuries.

PGPD Investigating Fatal Collision in Temple Hills

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal collision that occurred in Temple Hills early Monday morning. The victim is 56-year-old Sherry Lawrence of Mackson Drive in Temple Hills. She died of her injuries at a hospital on Thursday. 

On April 8th, at approximately 6:25 am, patrol officers were called to the area of Allentown Road and Kingston Drive for a collision involving two cars. Lawrence was the sole occupant of one of the cars. The driver and three passengers in the second vehicle suffered what appear to be minor injuries. They have since all been released from the hospital. 


The preliminary investigation reveals that Lawrence was traveling southbound on Allentown Road. The second involved car was heading northbound. For reasons that are under investigation, the second car crossed into the southbound lanes and struck Lawrence's car head-on.

Detectives Arrest Two Suspects in Domestic-Related Fatal Shooting in Adelphi

Homicide Unit detectives arrested a husband and wife in connection with a fatal shooting in Adelphi on Tuesday. The suspects are 24-year-old Edgar Garcia Constancia of the 14000 block of Cove Lane in Rockville and 27-year-old Norma Reyes Carbajal, also of the 14000 block of Cove Lane. They’re charged with the murder of 20-year-old Merlin Ramirez-Lara of Piney Branch Road in Silver Spring.

On April 9th, at approximately 6:15 am, patrol officers responded to the 8600 block of 20th Avenue for a welfare check. The victim was discovered outside suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The preliminary investigation reveals the victim had been in a romantic relationship with Reyes Carbajal. She agreed to meet the victim at the shooting location where Garcia Constancia was waiting. He shot and killed the victim.

Both of the suspects are charged with first degree murder and related charges.  They’re in custody of the Department of Corrections.

Detectives Identify and Arrest Suspect in Recent Landover Burglary & Sexual Offense

ives with our Sexual Assault Unit identified and arrested a suspect in connection with a burglary and sexual offense that took place Sunday in the Landover area. The suspect is 25-year-old Leslie Williams of the 3500 block of 65th Avenue in Landover.
On April 7th, at approximately 6:00 am, patrol officers were called to a home in the 3000 block of Meadow Trail Lane.
The preliminary investigation reveals the suspect broke into the home, inappropriately touched the victim and then fled. The victim and suspect do not know each other.  

Through the course of the investigation, Williams was developed as the suspect. He is charged with first and third degree burglary and fourth degree sexual offense.

Fatal Shooting During Break-in at Riverdale Home Under Investigation


The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting during a break-in at a home in Riverdale Wednesday evening. The deceased suspect is 18-year-old Victory Mbeng of the 5000 block of Harland Street in New Carrollton. The homeowner shot Mbeng seconds after Mbeng kicked down the front door of the home. Mbeng was armed at the time.

On April 10th, at approximately 5:30 pm, a resident called 911 to alert police that he had just shot at a man who broke into his home. After the shooting, the suspect, Mbeng, ran away. At 5:55 pm, Prince George’s County Police were called to Doctors Hospital in Lanham after a man suffering from a gunshot wound was dropped off there. Mbeng died of his injuries a short time later at the hospital.

The break-in at the home in Riverdale was recorded on a home surveillance system. The preliminary investigation reveals the home was targeted. Detectives have spoken with the homeowner. He is not facing any charges at this time.

PGPD Investigating Fatal Crash in Clinton


The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is in the early stages of an extensive investigation into a fatal collision in Clinton on Wednesday morning. The victim is 32-year-old Shamika Brown of Ethan Manor Road in Clinton.

At approximately 6:30 am, patrol officers responded to a multi-vehicle collision at the intersection of Branch Avenue and Surratts Road. The collision involved a tractor trailer, a school bus and five additional vehicles. Brown was driving one of the involved cars. The driver of the tractor trailer was not hurt. The driver and two passengers on the school bus suffered what appear to be non-life-threatening injuries. Two additional drivers also suffered what appear to be non-life-threatening injuries. The remaining two drivers were not hurt.

The preliminary investigation reveals the tractor trailer was southbound on Branch Avenue approaching a red traffic signal at Surratts Road. For reasons that are under investigation, the tractor trailer drove through the red traffic light, causing a chain-reaction collision.

Investigators are working to determine the exact sequence of events. The investigation could take weeks to months to complete. As with any collision investigation, any charges against any driver will be determined in consultation with the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office at the completion of the investigation.

Gas Station Robbery Suspect 


We’re starting Wanted Wednesday with a robbery at a gas station. Robbery Unit detectives are working to arrest this man who robbed a gas station in Lanham. On April 5th, at about 8:35 pm, he walked into the business in the 7000 block of Annapolis Road. He approached an employee, displayed a gun and demanded money. Once he had cash, he fled the store. Armed Robbery Suspect


Up next, we are asking our community to call us with any info on a recent armed robbery. This suspect is wanted for robbing a victim at an ATM in the 6000 block of Central Avenue in Capitol Heights on March 15th. Detectives are working to arrest a suspect linked to two robberies on Greenbelt Road – one in Berwyn Heights and the second in Lanham. This suspect targeted businesses on April 4th and February 21st. The preliminary investigation reveals that in the most recent case, the suspect walked into an ice cream shop in the 8000 block of Greenbelt Road in Lanham, pulled out a gun and demanded money. Homicide Unit detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of a man in Adelphi this morning. The victim is 20-year-old Merlin Ramirez-Lara of Piney Branch Road in Silver Spring. Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a random crime.

On April 9th, at approximately 6:15 am, patrol officers responded to the 8600 block of 20th Avenue for a welfare check. The victim was discovered outside suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Detectives are working to identify the suspect(s) and determine a motive.

Detectives Investigate Burglary & Sex Offense


Detectives are working to identify and arrest the man who broke into a home in the Landover area. Once inside, he inappropriately touched an adult female. The victim does not know the suspect. 

The preliminary investigation reveals the suspect broke into the home in the 3000 block of Meadow Trail Lane on Sunday morning at approximately 6:00 am. The suspect entered the home through an unlocked window. He then inappropriately touched the victim before fleeing. 

The suspect is described as a black male, wearing dark clothing and a dark knit hat or hoodie. 

A similar incident occurred on January 7th, 2019, at a nearby home in the 6000 block of Landing Way. In that case, a suspect also broke into the home through a window, sexually assaulted a woman and then fled. Detectives are investigating whether these incidents are connected.

PGPD Conducting Death Investigation in Fort Washington

Prince George's County Police detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of an 18 year old female inside of a Fort Washington home last night. The decedent is Saniyah Floyd of Walker Mill Road in Capitol Heights.


On April 7th, at approximately 10:30 pm, patrol officers responded to a residence in the 13000 block of Buchanan Drive. Officers found Floyd in a bedroom suffering from a single gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead on the scene. 


Investigators are speaking with witnesses who were with Floyd at the time and reviewing forensic evidence as they work to determine the facts as to what exactly happened in the home.
 

Detectives are investigating whose gun was involved in this incident. The gun was recovered on the scene.


Investigators are consulting with the Prince George’s County State's Attorney's Office regarding this case.

Detectives Investigate Double Fatal Shooting in Capitol Heights



Homicide Unit detectives are investigating a double fatal shooting that occurred early Sunday morning in Capitol Heights. The victims are 24-year-old Trevor Frazier of East Patrick Street in Frederick and 26-year-old Raymond Giles of Rockcreek Court in Frederick.

On April 7th, at approximately 12:15 am, patrol officers were called to the 5000 block of Fable Street for a shooting. They discovered Frazier and Giles suffering from gunshot wounds. Frazier was pronounced dead on the scene. Giles was taken to the hospital where he died a short time later.
  
Detectives are working to establish a suspect(s) and motive at this time.
