Detectives with our Homicide Unit are investigating a
fatal shooting that occurred on Wednesday. The victim is 27-year-old
Nelson Standifer of Upper Marlboro. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered
for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a random crime.
On September 18th, at approximately 12:15 pm, officers
from the Glenarden Police Department, Seat Pleasant Police Department and the
Prince George’s County Police Department were called to the area of Johnson
Avenue and Martin Luther King Highway for a report of a shooting. Once in the
area, they discovered Standifer in a parking lot of an apartment complex with
multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene. A second male
shooting victim was discovered at a nearby convenience store. He was taken to
the hospital in critical condition.
Detectives are looking to identify a suspect(s) and a
motive.
The Prince George's County Police Department investigates
all homicides within the City of Glenarden.

Detectives Investigan Mortal Balacera en Ciudad de
Glenarden
Detectives de nuestra Unidad de
Homicidios investigan una mortal balacera ocurrida el miércoles. La víctima fue
identificada como Nelson Standifer, de 27 años de edad y vecino del área de
Upper Marlboro. Se ofrece una recompensa de hasta $25,000 por información
conducente a un arresto y acusación en el presente caso. De manera preliminar,
los detectives entienden que no se trata de un crimen al azar.
El 18 de septiembre, a eso de las
12:15 pm, oficiales del Departamento de la Policía de Glenarden, Departamento
de la Policía de Seat Pleasant y el Departamento de la Policía de Prince George
acudieron al área de Johnson Avenue y Martin Luther King Highway ante un reporte
de balacera. Una vez allí, hallaron a
Standifer con múltiples heridas de bala en el estacionamiento de un complejo de
apartamentos. A éste le declararon muerto en la escena. Una segunda víctima de
heridas de bala, masculina, fue descubierta en una tienda de primera necesidad
cercana. Éste fue llevado al hospital en condición crítica.

identificar un posible sospechoso(s) y motivo para el crimen.
