Arrest Made in the Murder at Southern Avenue Metro Station



Norman Marquarus Bonds 32 yrs. old

The Prince George’s County Police Department has arrested 32-year- old Norman Marquarus Bonds in connection with the murder of 43-year-old Harold T. Detter in Temple Hills, Maryland.
On June 5, at approximately 9:28 p.m., Prince George’s County Police and Metro Transit Police responded to 1411 Southern Avenue, Temple Hills, Maryland for the report of a shooting that occurred in front of the Southern Avenue Metro Station. Officers located Detter, of the 2400 block of West Rosecroft Village Circle in Oxon Hill, in the front entrance of the Southern Avenue Metro Station suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body.

 Detectives developed Bonds as a suspect. Less than 12 hours later, Bonds was arrested on a warrant charging him with first degree murder. The motive is still under investigation. Detailed information from multiple witnesses was vital to the case. In order to provide an increased police presence, the Prince George’s County Police Department has conducted more than fifteen hundred area checks of the Southern Avenue Metro Station since October of 2011.
