PGPD Investigates Train Accident in Brandywine



The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a serious accident in Brandywine involving a car and a train.

On February 6, 2013, around 4:30 pm, police officers responded to Brandywine Road near Ice Plant Road for an accident involving a train.  The preliminary investigation reveals the driver of a 2001 Ford Mustang is believed to have attempted to cross the railroad tracks as the lights were flashing red.  An oncoming CSX train struck the car.  The car's driver was ejected and suffered serious head trauma. The driver is in critical condition at an area hospital.  The CSX employees were not hurt.
