PGPD Shuts Down District Heights Establishment

The Prince George's County Police Department issued a violation notice to the owners of the Rose Cafe  ordering their business closed on March 16, 2013.

The Rose Cafe, previously called the Star Dust Lounge, is located in the 5400 block of Marlboro Pike in District Heights.  A shooting took place in the parking lot on February 6, 2013.  The Rose Cafe was previously closed on February 8, 2013, for operating without the required use and occupancy permit and for posing an imminent danger to the public.  A zoning hearing examiner allowed the business to reopen on March 1, 2013, under specific conditions, including a requirement that the business cease adult entertainment related activities.  The PGPD discovered the business was continuing to operate outside of its use and occupancy permit on March 9, 2013, leading to the March 16, 2013, violation notice and closure.

The Rose Cafe will remain closed pending the outcome of an appeals hearing.
