PGPD Conducting Death Investigation in College Park

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision involving a CSX train in College Park.  The victim is identified as 35-year-old Rebecca Ruth Selleck of Sheridan Avenue in Riverdale.  

On May 11, 2015, at about 11:05 am, patrol officers were called to the intersection of Calvert Road and Bowden Avenue for a pedestrian collision involving a train. When they arrived, they found Selleck suffering from critical injuries. She was pronounced dead on the scene.

The preliminary investigation reveals the train was travelling from Baltimore to Columbus, Ohio.  Investigators believe Selleck was attempting to cross the railway platform when she was struck.
