Lead Detective, Victim’s Family to Discuss Accokeek Murder Investigation

Officers to Canvass Community




The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit this evening will update an active murder investigation from this summer in an Accokeek neighborhood. 

On July 12, 2015, at about 1:00 am, patrol officers were called to the 15700 block of Hickory Knoll Road for a shooting. When they arrived, they found 20-year-old Daryl Sylvester King, Jr., of Dorset Drive in Waldorf outside suffering from a gunshot wound. He died a short time later at a hospital. 

Tonight, Detective Ben Brown and Mr. King’s family will be available for interviews as police officers pass out Crime Solvers flyers seeking information in this investigation. The interviews and canvass are scheduled to begin at 5 pm in the 15700 block of Hickory Knoll Road in Accokeek.

A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered in this case. Anyone with information is asked to call the Prince George's County Police Department's Homicide Unit at 301-772-4925.
