PGPD Searching for Driver in Fatal Pedestrian Hit-and-Run in District Heights

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal pedestrian hit-and-run in District Heights. The victim is 39-year-old Roy Lee Dorsey Jr., of Silver Hill Court in District Heights. The striking vehicle is described as a gray or black full-size passenger van. The van may now have front end damage. Investigators would like to speak with anyone who may have witnessed this collision or has information in this case.

On December 14, 2015, at about 6:35 pm, patrol officers were called to the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and Silver Hill Road for a collision involving a pedestrian. When they arrived, the officers found Dorsey in the roadway suffering from critical injuries. He was taken to a hospital where he died a short time later.

The preliminary investigation reveals Dorsey was attempting to cross Pennsylvania Avenue when he was struck by the van. The driver did not remain at the scene. The victim was not in a crosswalk.
