Double Fatal Shooting in District Heights Home Under Investigation

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is leading the investigation into the deaths of two men found shot to death in District Heights Tuesday morning. The two decedents are 40-year-old Marquise Porter of District Heights and 43-year-old Willie Cheeks. Detectives do not believe this to be a random crime.

 

On October 26, 2021, at approximately 9:25 am, officers responded to the 1900 block of Rochell Avenue for the report of a shooting. Once on scene, they located the decedents inside of an apartment each suffering from a gunshot wound. They were pronounced dead on the scene. The decedents have been taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner where the cause and manner of death will be determined. Investigators are also working to determine the time of the shootings. Both decedents lived in the apartment where the shootings occurred.

 

Detectives are working to establish a motive in the case.

Bajo Investigación Mortal Tiroteo dentro de Hogar en District Heights

La Unidad de Homicidios del Departamento de la Policía del Condado de Prince George’s investiga la muerte de dos individuos que hallaron muertos a causa de heridas de bala, en el área de District Heights en la mañana del martes. Los fenecidos fueron identificados como Marquise Porter, de 40 años y vecino de District Heights, y Wille Cheeks, de 43 años. Los detectives del caso entienden que no fue un crimen al azar.

El 26 de octubre de 2021, a eso de las 9:25 am, oficiales de patrulla acudieron a la cuadra 1900 de Rochelle Avenue tras recibir información sobre un tiroteo. Una vez llegaron a la escena, los oficiales hallaron a ambos fenecidos con una herida de bala cada uno, dentro de un apartamento. A ambos les declararon muertos en la escena. Sus cadáveres fueron trasladados a la Oficina del Primer Examinador Forense para determinar la causa y forma definitiva de ambas muertes. Los detectives también buscan determinar a qué hora se produjeron los disparos. Ambos fenecidos vivían en el apartamento en donde se produjo el tiroteo.
