PGPD Investigates Fatal Collision in Capitol Heights

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal collision that occurred in Capitol Heights on Thursday evening. The deceased driver is 49-year-old Ronnell Lamont James of Upper Marlboro.

 

On October 29, 2020, at approximately 8:00 pm, officers responded to the 600 block of Hampton Park Boulevard for a crash involving an SUV and a tractor trailer. James, who was driving the SUV, was pronounced dead on the scene.

 

The preliminary investigation revealed that at the time of the collision, the tractor trailer was being backed up on Hampton Park Boulevard and was positioned across the roadway. James was travelling southbound on Hampton Park Boulevard. For reasons that are now under investigation, James struck the tractor trailer causing his SUV to become wedged underneath the tractor trailer.

PGPD Investiga Mortal Choque en Capitol Heights

La Unidad de Análisis y Reconstrucción de Choques investiga un mortal choque ocurrido el jueves en la noche en el área de Capitol Heights. El fenecido conductor fue identificado como Ronnell Lamont James, de 49 años de edad y vecino de Upper Marlboro

Detectives Charge Husband in Domestic-Related Murder in Bowie

Prince George’s County Police Homicide Unit detectives arrested a man for fatally shooting his wife inside of their Bowie home. The suspect is 61-year-old Keith May of the 12000 block of Backus Drive in Bowie. The victim is 67-year-old Brenda May.

 

On October 29, 2020, at approximately 5:40 am, patrol officers responded to the couple’s home on Backus Drive for the report of a shooting. Officers located the victim inside suffering from a gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead on the scene.

 

Through the course of the investigation, detectives determined Keith May shot the victim. He admitted his involvement in the domestic-related murder. He’s charged with first degree murder and related charges. He’s in the custody of the Department of Corrections. A commissioner ordered him held on a no-bond status.

Detectives Acusan por Asesinato a Esposo en Caso de Violencia Doméstica en Bowie

Detectives de la Unidad de Homicidios de la Policía de Prince George’s arrestaron a un individuo por haber asesinado a su esposa a tiros dentro de su residencia en Bowie. El sospechoso fue identificado como Keith May, de 61 años de edad y vecino de la cuadra 12000 de Backus Drive en Bowie. La víctima fue identificada como Brenda May, de 67 años de edad.

El 29 de octubre, a eso de las 5:40 de la mañana, oficiales de patrulla acudieron a la residencia de la pareja en Backus Drive tras recibir información sobre un tiroteo. Los oficiales hallaron a la víctima con una herida de bala dentro del hogar. A ésta le declararon muerta en la escena.

The Prince George’s County Police Department is seeking the public’s help in finding a missing man. He is identified as 80 y/o Gene Summers. He was last seen in the 800 block of Campbell Drive in Suitland, at approximately 8:00 am on October 29, 2020. 


Mr. Summers is described as a black male, 5’10” tall and 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black hat, black pants and black dress shoes carrying a black and red umbrella. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Regional Investigation Division – Central Region at 301-772-4911.

Detectives Investigating Fatal Shooting in Landover

Homicide Unit detectives are working to identify the suspect who shot and killed a man Tuesday evening in Landover. The victim is 22-year-old Andre Lamont Cox Jr., of no fixed address. Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a random shooting.

 On October 27, 2020, at approximately 6:30 pm, patrol officers responded to the 3200 block of 75th Avenue for a shooting. The victim was located outside suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to a hospital where he died a short time later.

 Detectives are working to identify a suspect(s) and determine a motive.

PGPD Investigating Fatal Bicycle Collision in Capitol Heights

UPDATE October 29, 2020: The deceased bicyclist has now been identified as 56-year-old Candido Lopez-Sales of Washington, DC. The investigation into this collision continues. Anyone with information is urged to call 301-731-4422.

The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a fatal collision involving a bicyclist that took place on Tuesday afternoon in Capitol Heights. The involved driver, an on-duty officer with the Metropolitan Police Department, remained on the scene. The officer was driving an unmarked MPDC vehicle.

On October 27, 2020, at approximately 4:30 pm, patrol officers responded to the area of East Capitol Street near Southern Avenue. The bicyclist was located suffering serious injuries. He died a short time later at a hospital.

The preliminary investigation revealed the officer was traveling westbound on East Capitol Street approaching Southern Avenue. His emergency lights and sirens were activated. According to a witness, the bicyclist was initially riding his bike on the sidewalk along East Capitol Street and then entered the roadway into the lanes of travel. The collision took place seconds later.

PGPD Investiga Mortal Choque Contra Ciclista en Capitol Heights

Cell Phone Store Armed Robbery 


Robbery Unit detectives want to arrest these two suspects who are wanted for an armed robbery at a cell phone store in College Park. The suspects targeted the business in the 7200 block of Baltimore Avenue the afternoon of October 23, 2020. PGPD Searches for Driver & Vehicle Involved in Fatal Hit-and-Run in District Heights

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit would like to speak to anyone who witnessed or has information on a fatal pedestrian hit-and-run in District Heights on Saturday night. The deceased pedestrian is 58-year-old Bernel Spencer of District Heights. 

On October 24, 2020, at approximately 10:20 pm, patrol officers were called to the 6800 block of Walker Mill Road near the intersection with Karen Boulevard for a pedestrian collision. Once on scene, officers located Spencer unresponsive in the roadway. He was taken to a hospital where he died on Sunday.

The preliminary investigation revealed a vehicle traveling westbound on Walker Mill Road struck Spencer in the roadway. The driver did not remain on the scene. Spencer was attempting to cross Walker Mill Road in a designated crosswalk at the time of the collision.

The striking vehicle is described as a black or dark-colored SUV or sedan. The vehicle lost its driver’s side mirror during the collision.

Detectives Arrest Suspect for Fatal Shooting in Lanham

Prince George’s County Police Homicide Unit detectives identified and arrested the suspect wanted for a recent fatal shooting in Lanham. The suspect is 22-year-old Rome Watkins of the 2800 block of Hornbeam Court in Glenarden. He’s charged in connection with the murder of 27-year-old Tavon Davis of Laurel.

On October 5, 2020, at approximately 11:40 pm, patrol officers were called to the 5600 block of Duchaine Drive for a shooting. Officers discovered Davis outside suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The preliminary investigation revealed the suspect and victim were known to each other. The motive for the fatal shooting remains under investigation. Watkins is charged with first degree murder, second degree murder and related charges. He is in the custody of the Department of Corrections. A court commissioner ordered him held on a no-bond status.

VIDEO: Detectives Seek Assistance Identifying Two Persons of Interest in a 2019 Homicide

Homicide Unit detectives are asking the community to watch a video that shows two persons of interest in a 2019 homicide in the Lake Arbor community near Bowie. We would like to talk to the two males seen walking in the video about the murder of 19-year-old Trey Scotland of Bowie last November.


On November 4, 2019, at approximately 10:45 pm, patrol officers responded to the 1300 block of Fairlakes Place. Officers located Scotland in a car suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead a short time later.

A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.

Video: Detectives Piden Asistencia Para Identificar a Dos Personas de Interés en Homicidio del 2019

Detectives de la Unidad de Homicidios piden a los integrantes de la comunidad que vean el video adjunto en el cual aparecen dos personas de interés conectadas a un homicidio ocurrido en el 2019 en la comunidad de Lake Arbor, cerca de Bowie. Nos gustaría comunicarnos con los dos individuos que aparecen caminando en el video en relación al asesinato en noviembre de Trey Scotland, de 19 años de edad y vecino de Bowie.

El 4 de noviembre de 2019, a eso de las 10:45 de la noche, nuestros oficiales acudieron a la cuadra 1300 de Fairlakes Place. Una vez allí, los oficiales hallaron a Scotland con una herida de bala dentro de un vehículo. A éste le declararon muerto poco después.

Se ofrece una recompensa de hasta $25,000 por cualquier información conducente a un arresto y acusación en este caso.

Detectives Obtain Arrest Warrant for Homicide Suspect; Search for Suspect Continues

Santegie Williams

Homicide Unit detectives identified and obtained an arrest warrant for the suspect wanted for a fatal stabbing in Largo in early September. The suspect is 28-year-old Santegie Williams. His last known address was in the 2300 block of 4th Street in Northwest Washington, DC. He’s charged with murdering 39-year-old Andrae Dyer of Oxon Hill.

On September 4, 2020, at approximately 6:55 am, officers responded to the 800 block of Largo Center Drive. The officers located the victim outside suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was pronounced dead a short time later at a hospital.

Through various investigative techniques, Williams was identified as the suspect and a warrant for his arrest was obtained. Preliminarily, detectives believe the suspect stabbed the victim during a robbery. At this time, there is no known connection between the victim and suspect.

Detectives Obtienen Orden de Arresto Contra Sospechoso de Homicidio – Su Búsqueda Continúa

Detectives de la Unidad de Homicidios identificaron y obtuvieron una orden de arresto para la captura de un sospechoso que apuñaló mortalmente a un individuo a principios de septiembre en Largo. El sospechoso fue identificado como Santegie Williams, de 28 años de edad. El último domicilio que se le conoce era en la cuadra 2300 de 4th Street en Northwest Washington DC. A éste se le acusa de haber asesinado a Andrae Dyer, de 39 años de edad y vecino de Oxon Hill.

El 4 de septiembre, a eso de las 6:55 de la mañana, nuestros oficiales acudieron a la cuadra 800 de Largo Center Drive. Una vez allí, los oficiales hallaron a la víctima en las afueras del área con múltiples puñaladas. A éste le declararon muerto poco después en un hospital.

Mediante el uso de varias técnicas investigativas, Williams fue identificado como el sospechoso y se logró obtener una orden de arresto en su contra. De manera preliminar, los detectives entienden que el sospechoso apuñaló a la víctima en medio de un asalto. En estos momentos se entiende que no hay conexión alguna entre la víctima y el sospechoso.

PGPD Investigates Fatal Collision in Town of Berwyn Heights

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal crash that occurred Wednesday night in the town of Berwyn Heights. A motorcycle rider, 36-year-old Michael Luke Miller of Berwyn Heights, was killed.

On October 21, 2020, at approximately 9:40 pm, officers responded to the 6200 block of Ruatan Street for a collision. The preliminary investigation revealed Miller was on a motorcycle traveling eastbound on Ruatan Street, when for reasons that remain under investigation, he struck a parked car, left the roadway and ultimately struck a tree. Miller was pronounced dead on the scene. The parked car was unoccupied.

The Prince George’s County Police Department investigates all fatal crashes that occur within the Town of Berwyn Heights.

PGPD Investiga Mortal Choque en Pueblo de Berwyn Heights

La Unidad de Análisis y Reconstrucción de Choques investiga un mortal choque ocurrido el miércoles en la noche en el área de Berwyn Heights. Un motociclista, quien fue identificado como Michael Luke Miller, de 36 años de edad y vecino de Berwyn Heights, perdió su vida.

El 21 de octubre, a eso de las 9:40 de la noche, nuestros oficiales acudieron a la cuadra 6200 de Ruatan Street tras recibir información sobre un choque. La investigación preliminar reveló que el Miller viajaba en una motocicleta en dirección este sobre Ruatan Street cuando, por razones que permanecen bajo investigación, éste impactó un vehículo estacionado, abandonó la carretera y finamente se estrelló contra un árbol. A Miller le declararon muerto en la escena. El vehículo estacionado se encontraba desocupado.

El Departamento de la Policía de Prince George’s County investiga todo choque mortal que ocurra dentro del Pueblo de Berwyn Heights.

Missing Woman Found

The Prince George’s County Police Department is seeking the public’s help in finding a missing woman. She is identified as 76-year-old Geraldine Cora Mills. She was last seen in the area of Logan Circle, Washington, D.C. in the afternoon of October 21, 2020.

 

 

Mills is described as a black female, 5’2” tall and 154 pounds. She was last seen wearing a red jacket with gold trim and dark pants.  She was last seen driving a red 2015 Jeep Patriot bearing Maryland registration 5DL0489.

 

Not Actual Vehicle

Convenience Store Armed Robbery



Robbery Unit detectives are actively working to arrest these two suspects who are wanted for an armed robbery at a convenience store in Marlow Heights. The suspects targeted the business in the 3300 block of Branch Avenue the early morning of October 13th. Burglary Suspect



We are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying this suspect. He’s linked to a burglary at a car dealership in the 6500 block of Crain Highway in Bowie on October 13th.
