PGPD Investigating Fatal Shooting

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal shooting that occurred in the unincorporated section of Capitol Heights on Saturday evening. The victim is 43-year-old Isaac Jenkins of Winnsboro, SC. Preliminarily, this does not appear to be a random crime. 

 

On July 29, 2023, at approximately 9:20 pm, officers responded to the 8500 block of Ashwood Drive for the report of a shooting. The victim was located outside suffering from gunshot wound(s). He was pronounced dead on the scene. A second victim, an adult female, suffered injuries not considered life-threatening.

Missing Woman Found

Dejah Wilson

The Prince George's County Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in finding a missing woman. She is identified as 21-year-old Dejah Wilson. She was last seen in the 6100 block of Surrey Square Lane in District Heights on July 27th, 2023.

Ms. Wilson is a black female, 5’2”, and 125 pounds. She was last seen wearing a brown in color shirt and blue pants.

Three Suspects in Custody for Fatal Shooting at Capitol Heights Hotel

The Prince George’s County Police Department identified and arrested three suspects in connection with a fatal shooting at a hotel on Saturday evening. The suspects are 18-year-old Ade Boggs, 28-year-old Te Shear Baxter and 32-year-old Tequoia Baxter. The three suspects are relatives who live in Philadelphia, PA.  The victim in this case is 37-year-old Demetric Martin of Oxon Hill.  

On July 22, 2023, at approximately 5:30 pm, officers responded to a hotel at 55 Hampton Park Boulevard in Capitol Heights for a shooting. Martin was located outside suffering from a gunshot wound(s). He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.  

The preliminary investigation revealed the shooting stemmed from a dispute between a family member of the victim and the suspects. The victim and suspects did not know each other.

The PGPD’s Fugitive Squad, with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service and the Philadelphia Police Department’s Homicide Unit, located and arrested Boggs this morning in Philadelphia. He’s charged with first degree murder and related charges. He remains in Philadelphia pending extradition to Prince George’s County. Te Shear Baxter and Tequoia Baxter were arrested on July 23, 2023, at the hotel. They are also charged with first degree murder and related charges. They are in the custody of the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections.

PGPD Investigating Fatal Collision in Landover

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal collision that occurred Wednesday afternoon in Landover. The deceased driver is 64-year-old Kerris Jennings of Landover. 

On July 26, 2023, at approximately 12:30 pm, officers responded to the area of Landover Road and Fire House Road for a collision involving five vehicles. The officers located the victim unresponsive in her car. She was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead a short time later.  

The preliminary investigation revealed the drivers of the five involved vehicles were all traveling northbound on Landover Road approaching a red light. For reasons now under investigation, one of the drivers rear ended the victim’s car causing a chain reaction of collisions with three other vehicles. The four other involved drivers and passengers inside of their vehicles suffered what are believed to be minor injuries.

Victim in Homicide Identified

The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred in the unincorporated section of Silver Spring. The victim is 34-year-old Noel Rivera of Silver Spring.  

 

On July 24, 2023, at approximately 8:20 am, officers responded to the 8100 block of Tahona Drive for a welfare check. Once on scene, they located Rivera inside of an apartment suffering from trauma. He was pronounced dead on the scene. 

  

Investigators are working to determine the circumstances of this incident and identify a suspect(s).
