PGPD Teams with H.N.L.E.A. to Present “Best Practices When Stopped by Police” Forum

Prince George’s County, Maryland…The Prince George’s County Police Department and the Hispanic National Law Enforcement Association (H.N.L.E.A.) hosted the “Best Practices When stopped By the Police” forum.

The forum’s objective was to educate the community on what to expect when encountered by law enforcement. The forum helped familiarize people with law enforcement concerns, as well as, practices to help avoid needless misunderstandings. During this event, the differences between the practices used by Prince George’s County Police Officers and a local security company that operates in the Langley Park area were highlighted. The forum explained the differences in legal authority and what police officers, as well as, security officers expect.

Approximately 50 people attended the forum and were very receptive to the topics discussed. Residents expressed a desire for similar events in the future.
