Identity of Suspect Sought in M&T Armed Bank Robbery


Prince George’s County, Maryland…The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Robbery Unit is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying an individual wanted in connection with the armed robbery of an M&T Bank in Oxon Hill, Maryland.

On June 25, 2010 at 11:05 a.m., a suspect walked into the M&T Bank located in the 6200 block of Oxon Hill Road posing as a customer. Once inside, the suspect passed a note to the victim demanding money. The victim, fearing for her safety, complied with the demand. The suspect took the money and fled the scene on foot.


The suspect is described as a black female approximately 5’6”-5’7” tall and weighing approximately 160 pounds. She has a piercing above the left side of her top lip and sandy brown hair. The suspect was last seen wearing a Jamaican cufee, a black short sleeve shirt, blue jeans, black flip-flops, sunglasses, and armed with a black handled handgun.

PGPD to Partner with Metro Latino Aids Coalition for National HIV Testing Day

Prince George's County, Maryland …The Prince George’s County Police Department’s District I Station and the Metro Latino Aids Coalition (MLAC) will be working together this Sunday to educate the Langley Park community about HIV and AIDS during the National HIV testing day.

There are increasing numbers of Latino community members becoming infected by the disease, and with the growing population the numbers of those infected could continue to increase.  Along with safety and security, the Department considers the well being and health of its communities also as an utmost importance.

A mobile unit will be in the area conducting blood testing from the Mary’s Center along with organizations present to conduct Rapid Oral tests at the District I COPS office.  The event is free to the public.

PGPD Holds Open House Event at Oxon Hill Station

 Prince George's County, Maryland …Prince George’s County Police Chief Roberto Hylton along with the District IV Commander, Major James Harper held an Open House on Saturday June 19th at the Oxon Hill station to continue the departments initiative of promoting a stronger relationship with the community.
This event gave residents an opportunity to get to know the officers that patrol their communities.  The event was free to the public with food, fun, games and giveaways provided for all.

Casa de Maryland Multicultural Center Grand Opening



Casa de Maryland hosted their 25th Anniversary and Multicultural Center Grand Opening on Saturday, June 19th in Langley Park.  Activities included a grand opening ceremony, a naturalization service and a festival that included music, dance, children's activities and games.

Chief's Awards Ceremony Highlights Police Officers' and Community Members' Efforts against Crime

Prince George’s County, Maryland …Prince George’s County Police Chief Roberto Hylton honored members of the Prince George’s County Police Department and community members this afternoon during an awards ceremony. The event recognized the honorees for their courage and dedication towards the fight against crime throughout Prince George’s County. “Our department is full of good people who do great things everyday. With effective community policing coupled with policing from the heart, we have proven ourselves to be great mentors to the youth of Prince George’s County,” said Chief Hylton. He continued by acknowledging the importance of his civilian staff saying, “They are the support system to the daily operations of our department.”

There were 164 recipients who received awards during the ceremony. The awards included Unit Citations, Awards of Merit, Chief’s Awards, and Outstanding Citizenship Awards. Kendall Wallace, 11, was honored for his alert actions that led to the apprehension of a breaking and entering suspect. He was recognized with an Outstanding Citizenship Award and given the opportunity to be Chief for the Day. Prince George’s County Officers from the Oxon Hill - District 4 Station were acknowledged for their assistance in saving the life of Teka Adams, a pregnant woman who was severely injured when she was taken captive for the attempt abduction of her unborn child. They received a Unit Citation and an Award of Merit for their heroic efforts.

PGPD to Host its Second Annual Leadership & Life Camp

Prince George’s County, Maryland…The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Community Services Division, in conjunction with community partners, will be hosting its Second Annual Leadership & Life Camp.

     The goal of the summer camp is to provide a supportive environment for teens and enhance their leadership skill sets by imparting knowledge and conducting practical exercises to help them prepare for life’s lessons.  Participants in the camp will be able to enjoy such things as a field trip to the Holocaust Museum and participate in workshops about self-esteem building, financial responsibility and gang awareness. These are just a few of the exciting activities that have been planned by the Community Services Division.

     There will be (3) one week sessions. The sessions are listed as followed:

                         North:       Districts I & VI – July 12 – 16, 2010
                         Central:    Districts II & III – July 19 – 23, 2010
                         South:       Districts IV & V – July 26 – 30, 2010

Departmental Shooting during an Attempt Robbery

Prince George’s County, Maryland… The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Special Investigative Response Team is investigating a police involved shooting that occurred in Bowie, Maryland.


On June 14, 2010 at approximately 10:04 a.m., an off-duty Prince George’s County Police Officer observed a robbery in progress near the 6900 block of Laurel-Bowie Road. While attempting to make an apprehension, a struggle ensued between the police officer and one of the suspects. When the suspect tried to take the police officer’s service weapon, it discharged causing minor injuries to the officer and the suspect.

Tarintini Jean-Louis, 26, of the 200 block of Clarkson Avenue in Brooklyn, New York, was charged with Robbery, Conspiracy to Commit Robbery, First and Second Degree Assault, Second Degree Assault of a Law Enforcement Officer, Attempting to Disarm a Law Enforcement Officer and Resisting Arrest. Bernard Hasan Tyler, 20, of the 4500 block of Russell Avenue in Mt. Rainier, Maryland, was also charged with Robbery and Conspiracy to Commit Robbery. A third suspect fled the area in a dark green Mazda vehicle with tinted windows.

The officer has been identified as Corporal Edward King, a 22 year veteran assigned to the Bureau of Patrol. He has been placed on administrative leave as a result of this incident.

“This was a courageous act by one of our own. In the wake of the murder of Maryland State Trooper Brown, this is just another reminder of the constant danger law enforcement officers across the country experience while carrying out their duties as protectors of the community,” said Prince George’s County Police Chief Roberto Hylton.

Two Suspects Arrested in the Murder of Maryland State Trooper Wesley Brown

Prince George’s County, Maryland…The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide unit along with the assistance of the Maryland State Police and the Metropolitan Police Department has arrested two suspects in the murder of a Maryland State Trooper.


Anthony Anderson Milton, 28, of the 7000 block of 71st Court in Seat Pleasant and Cyril Cornelius Williams, 27, of the 6800 block of Seat Pleasant Drive in Seat Pleasant were both charged with first degree murder.

Trooper Wesley Brown, 24, was working part-time as a security officer for the Applebee’s located in the 3400 block of Donnell Drive in Forestville. While working, Trooper Brown encountered a disorderly patron and escorted him out of the restaurant. A short time later Trooper Brown stepped outside of the establishment to make a phone call when an unknown suspect opened fire on him, striking him multiple times. The Trooper was transported to Prince George’s Hospital Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Trooper Wesley Brown was assigned to the Maryland State Police / Forestville Barrack. He graduated from the police academy in October of 2006 and was a 3 ½ year veteran of the force.

“I am very proud of my homicide detectives and all of the law enforcement agencies for solving this case so quickly. This helps with the grieving process of family and friends honoring Trooper Brown’s memory knowing that two violent predators were removed from the streets. These types of cases are often very difficult to solve, and it was through the hard work and determination of the community, Prince George’s County Crime Solvers, Applebee’s and all media outlets that helped close this case quickly,” said Chief of Police Roberto L. Hylton.

Suspects Sought in Armored Car Robbery


 Prince George’s County, Maryland…The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Robbery Unit is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying two suspects wanted in connection with an armored car robbery that occurred in Fort Washington, Maryland.

On May 21, 2010, at approximately 2:10 p.m., patrol officers responded to the 9200 block of Oxon Hill Road for the report of an armored car robbery.  Once on the scene, the victim advised that as she was leaving the Philippine National Bank (PNB) she was approached by suspect #2.  While suspect #2 was distracting the victim, suspect #1 approached the victim from behind and struck her in the back of the head with an unknown object.  While the victim was disoriented, the suspects took a money bag and fled on foot.  The victim, who sustained minor injuries, ran to the armored car and called police.


Suspect #1 is described as a black male in his 30’s, 5’9” to 6’ tall and approximately 200 lbs.  He was last seen wearing dreadlocks, a dark colored coat, blue jeans and a black ski mask.

Suspect #2 is described as a black female with a light complexion, 20-25 years old, 5’,9” tall and weighing approximately 180- 200 lbs.  She was last seen with long black hair and wearing a white shirt and khaki shorts.

Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics a Success

Prince George’s County, Maryland… Prince George’s County Police Chief Roberto L. Hylton and Hyattsville City Police Chief Douglas K. Holland participated in the opening ceremonies for the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run -“Flame of Hope” for Special Olympics on Wednesday morning at the Hyattsville Justice Center.







Over 100 runners representing the Prince George's County Police Department, Hyattsville City Police Department, Laurel Police Department, and other local and federal agencies joined the athletes as they carried the “Flame of Hope” north on Route 1 through College Park to the American Legion. From there, the “Flame of Hope” will be passed to a Special Olympics athlete who will light the Olympic cauldron to officially open the Special Olympics Maryland Summer Games at Towson University, June 11-13.          


Today marked the 25th Anniversary of the Maryland Torch Run. A movement that began in 1986 continues  to be a huge success by raising significant funds for the Special Olympics. “You get a sense of strength through the smiles and spirit of our Special Olympians. Each year, we look forward to being a part of such an inspiring event. Events such as this help create winning attitudes in all of us.” said Chief Roberto Hylton.

Identity of Suspects Sought in Forestville Armed Robbery

Prince George’s County, Maryland…The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Robbery Unit is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying individuals wanted in connection with the armed robbery of a CVS in Forestville, Maryland.


On May 30, 2010 at 8:45 a.m. the suspects walked into the CVS located in the 7000 block of Marlboro Pike posing as customers. Once inside, one of the suspects displayed a handgun and demanded money. The victims, fearing for their lives, complied with the demand. The suspects bounded their victims with duct tape before taking the money and fleeing the scene.








The suspects are described as two Black males and one Black female. They are between the ages of 27-30, and 5’5”– 6’0” in height. The males have medium and thin builds and both have dark complexions. The female has a medium build, light complexion, and shoulder length hair. The suspects may still be armed.
