WANTED WEDNESDAY


Robbery Suspects


We are starting Wanted Wednesday this week with an armed robbery investigation. Detectives are working to identify and arrest these three suspects wanted for robbing two victims on July 8th at approximately 7:00 am. The robberies took place in the area of the 3200 block of Naylor Road. All three suspects were armed with guns. Theft Suspect

Up next, a theft at a convenience store. The preliminary investigation revealed this pictured suspect walked behind the counter and stole multiple packs of cigarettes. This occurred at a store in the 3700 block of Branch Avenue on June 2nd. If you have info, please call 301-749-5064 or 1-866-411-TIPS. Refer to case 20-0026773.

Burglary Suspect


This suspect is wanted for breaking into a home in Temple Hills. The preliminary investigation reveals he broke into the home on Iverson Street and attempted to steal an item. If you have info on his identity, please call 1-866-411-TIPS or 301-749-5064 and refer to case number 20-0033191.

Assault Suspect


This suspect is wanted for an assault of a convenience store employee in Temple Hills. The assault took place on May 23rd. The preliminary investigation revealed the suspect stood in the doorway and pepper sprayed a store employee. Burglary Suspect


And finally, we are asking for the community’s assistance with a burglary at a restaurant in Capitol Heights. This suspect broke into the business in the 7900 block of Central Avenue on July 7th at approximately 4:30 am. The suspect stole money. Please call 301-749-5064 or 1-866-411-TIPS with info. Detectives Charge Mother in Connection with Infant Son’s Death in Upper Marlboro

Detectives with our Homicide Unit have charged a mother in connection with the death of her seven-month-old son. The mother is 34-year-old Shannon Renee Thompson of Cambleton Court. The deceased infant is Majesty Thompson.

On June 17th, at approximately 6:10 pm, patrol officers responded to the family’s home for a welfare check. Unfortunately, the baby was located in the home unresponsive and was pronounced dead a short time later.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner initiated an autopsy and the baby’s manner of death was ruled a homicide. The mother has admitted to suffocating the infant. She is charged with first and second degree murder and related charges. She is currently in custody of the Department of Corrections.

Detectives Someten Cargos Contra Mujer en Conexión a Muerte de Su Infante en Upper Marlboro

Detectives de nuestra Unidad de Homicidios acusaron a una mujer en conexión a la muerte de su hijo de 7 meses de edad. La madre fue identificada como Shannon Renee Thompson, de 34 años de edad y vecina de Cambleton Court. El fenecido infante era Majesty Thompson.

El 17 de junio, a eso de las 6:10 de la tarde, nuestros oficiales de patrulla acudieron a la casa de la familia para llevar a cabo un chequeo de bienestar. Desafortunadamente, estos hallaron al bebé sin señales de vida y se le declaró muerto poco después.

La Oficina del Médico Examinador de Ciencias Forenses inició una autopsia que determinó que en efecto la muerte se trataba de un homicidio. La madre admitió haber asfixiado al infante. Esta enfrenta cargos por asesinato en primer y segundo grado, entre otros. Se encuentra bajo la custodia del Departamento de Corrección.

PGPD Investigating Fatal Crash in Clinton; Officers Pursued SUV Prior to Crash

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Internal Affairs Division and Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit are both conducting investigations into a fatal crash that occurred on Thursday in Clinton. The driver and passenger of an SUV were killed. PGPD officers pursued that SUV prior to it crashing.

The deceased driver is 62-year-old Lynda Ann Jones of  Capitol Heights. The deceased passenger is her son, 42-year-old Richard Sylvester Jones also of Capitol Heights.

On July 9th, at approximately 4:45 pm, patrol officers responded to a gas station in the 7500 block of Old Branch Avenue for a disorderly call for service. The preliminary investigation revealed a gas station clerk called 911 about the occupants of an SUV at the gas pumps who were acting in an unusual manner. The first patrol officer who arrived briefly spoke to the occupants before the occupants drove off in their SUV. After a 6.7 mile pursuit, the SUV crashed into at least two utility poles on Old Branch Avenue near Tarquin Avenue.

Five officers who were involved in the pursuit have been suspended pending the outcome of the investigation.

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating the collision. The Internal Affairs Division is investigating the actions of the officers.

PGPD Investiga Mortal Choque en Clinton; Oficiales Iniciaron Persecución de SUV Previo al Choque

El Negociado de Asuntos Internos y la Unidad de Reconstrucción y Análisis de Choques ambos investigan un mortal choque ocurrido el jueves en el área de Clinton. El conductor y un pasajero de una SUV murieron. Oficiales de PGPD iniciaron una persecución del vehículo antes que este chocara.

La fenecida conductora fue identificada como Lynda Ann Jones, de 62 años de edad y vecina de Capitol Heights. El fenecido pasajero era su hijo, Richard Sylvester Jones, de 42 años de edad y también vecino de Capitol Heights

El 9 de julio, a eso de las 4:45 de la tarde, oficiales de patrulla acudieron a una gasolinera ubicada en la cuadra 7500 de Old Branch Avenue tras recibir información sobre un altercado. La investigación preliminar reveló que un trabajador de la gasolinera llamó al 911 al ver que los pasajeros de una SUV se comportaban de manera rara en una de las bombas. El primer oficial que llegó habló brevemente con las personas antes de que estos iniciaran su marcha en la SUV. Tras una persecución de 6.7 millas, la SUV chocó contra al menos 2 postes en Old Branch Avenue, cerca de Tarquin Avenue.

Los cinco oficiales que estuvieron involucrados en la persecución han sido suspendidos mientras la investigación sigue en curso.

Burglary Suspect

Theft from Auto Suspect


Our detectives need the community’s assistance to identify this suspect. This suspect broke into the victim’s car on Sunset Lane in Suitland on June 23rd. If you have information, please call 301-772-4911. Refer to case 20-0029935.

Robbery Suspects


Detectives are also working to make an arrest in a burglary that occurred on June 24th. These suspects broke into a pharmacy located in the 10800 block of Rhode Island Avenue at approximately 2:20 am and stole prescription medication. Burglary Suspects



We’re also looking for these suspects wanted in connection with a residential burglary. The investigation reveals the suspects broke into a home located on 100th Avenue in Lanham on June 26th . The suspects stole clothes, jewelry, video games, and other miscellaneous items before fleeing the area. Burglary Suspect


Detectives are also investigating a residential burglary that occurred in Lanham. The suspect committed the crime on Barrs Lane early morning on June 2nd. If you have info that could help detectives, please call 301-390-2160. Refer to case 20-0026718.

Assault Investigation


We are also looking for this suspect who is wanted for an assault. He’s identified as 25-year-old Rashaad Robinson. His last known address is in the 1200 block of Dunbar Oaks Drive in Capital Heights. Our investigation reveals Robinson assaulted one victim at his residence on July 5th. Burglary Suspects 


Finally, these individuals committed a burglary at a liquor store located on Livingston Road in Fort Washington. The preliminary investigation revealed the suspects broke into the business and stole liquor. This crime took place on July 1st.  The suspects were seen driving this pictured vehicle. Detectives Arrest Suspect in College Park Homicide

Tyree Stewart


Homicide Unit detectives identified and arrested a man in connection with a homicide that occurred in College Park on Sunday. The suspect is 26-year-old Tyree Stewart of the 9000 block of Edmonston Road in Greenbelt. The victim is 26-year-old Tyesha Henry of Greenbelt.

On July 5th, at approximately 11:30 am, patrol officers responded to a hotel located in the 9100 block of Baltimore Avenue for the report of an unresponsive female. When they arrived, they found Henry suffering from an apparent gunshot wound inside a hotel room. She was pronounced dead on the scene.

The preliminary investigation revealed that this is a domestic related homicide. Detectives are still working to establish a motive that led up to the shooting. Stewart is charged with first and second degree murder and related charges. He is in the custody of the Department of Corrections.

Detectives de la Unidad de Homicidios identificaron y arrestaron a un individuo en conexión a un homicidio ocurrido el domingo en College Park. El sospechoso es Tyree Stewart, de 26 años de edad y vecino de la cuadra 9000 de Edmonston Road en Greenbelt. La víctima fue identificada como Tyesha Henry, de 26 años de edad y vecina de Greenbelt.

El 5 de julio, a eso de las 11:30 de la mañana, oficiales de patrulla acudieron al hotel ubicado en la cuadra 9100 de Baltimore Avenue tras recibir información sobre una mujer sin señales de vida. Al llegar, hallaron a una mujer con una herida de bala dentro de una habitación del hotel. A ésta le declararon muerta en la escena

La investigación preliminar reveló que se trataba de un homicidio de naturaleza doméstica. Nuestros detectives continúan investigando para establecer un motivo que llevase al asesinato. A Stewart se le acusa por asesinato en primer y segundo grado, entre otros delitos. Este se encuentra bajo la custodia del Departamento de Corrección.

PGPD Investigating Fatal Shooting in Temple Hills

Homicide Unit detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in Temple Hills on Saturday. The victim is 24-year-old John Dennis Watts V of Baltimore. Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this to be a random act of crime.

On July 4th, at approximately 9:30 pm, officers responded to the 4600 block of Dallas Place for a reported shooting. When officers arrived on the scene, they located the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a hospital and was pronounced dead a short time later.

The preliminary investigation revealed that three additional people were also shot during this incident. They suffered what appear to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives are working to establish motive and identify suspect(s).

PGPD Investiga Mortal Balacera en Temple Hills

Detectives de la Unidad de Homicidios investigan un mortal tiroteo ocurrido el sábado en Temple Hills. La víctima fue identificada como John Dennis Watts V, de 24 años de edad y vecino de Baltimore. De manera preliminar, los detectives entienden que no se trata de un acto criminal al azar.

El 4 de julio, a eso de las 9:30 de la noche, oficiales de patrulla acudieron a la cuadra 4600 de Dallas Place tras recibir información sobre un tiroteo. Al llegar a la escena, estos hallaron a la víctima con múltiples heridas de bala. Este fue trasladado a un hospital en donde le declararon muerto poco después.

PGPD Investigating Fatal Pedestrian Collision in Temple Hills

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred Thursday afternoon in Temple Hills. The deceased pedestrian is 34-year-old Rosio Sanchez of Hyattsville.

On July 2nd, at approximately 2:20 pm, patrol officers were called to the intersection of Old Branch Avenue and Allentown Road for a collision involving two pedestrians and multiple vehicles. One of the pedestrians, Sanchez, was taken to the hospital where she died of her injuries.

The preliminary investigation reveals a pickup truck was traveling southbound on Old Branch Avenue, when for reasons which remain under investigation, left the roadway and traveled on the sidewalk. The pickup truck struck two pedestrians who were doing landscaping work on the sidewalk and continued traveling on the roadway striking three additional vehicles. The second pedestrian, an adult female, was rushed to a hospital for critical injuries. One driver, whose car was struck by the pickup truck suffered what appear to be non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital. The remaining two drivers were not hurt. All involved drivers remained on the scene.

PGPD Investiga Mortal Choque Peatonal en Temple Hills

La Unidad de Análisis y Reconstrucción de Choques investiga un mortal choque contra peatones ocurrido en Temple Hills el jueves en la tarde. La fenecida peatona fue identificada como Rosío Sánchez, de 34 años de edad y vecina de Hyattsville.

El 2 de julio, a eso de las 2:20 de la tarde, oficiales de patrulla acudieron a la intersección entre Old Branch Avenue y Allentown Road tras recibir información sobre un choque que involucraba a dos peatonas y múltiples vehículos. Una de las peatonas, Sánchez, fue trasladada al hospital en donde murió de sus heridas.

La investigación preliminar reveló que una camioneta viajaba en dirección sur sobre Old Branch Avenue cuando, por razones que aún permanecen bajo investigación, abandonó la vía de rodaje  y se montó en la acera. La camioneta impactó a dos peatonas quienes hacían trabajo de jardinería y embellecimiento y luego continuó su paso sobre la carretera, impactando a otros tres vehículos adicionales. La segunda peatona, una mujer adulta, fue trasladada de emergencia al hospital debido a sus graves lesiones. Un conductor cuyo vehículo fue impactado por la camioneta sufrió lo que parecían ser lesiones menos severas y fue trasladado al hospital. Los restantes conductores resultaron ilesos. Todos los conductores involucrados permanecieron en la escena.

Missing Woman Found

UPDATE July 3, 2020: Ms. Juanita Scott has been safely located and in good health.

We are asking for our community’s assistance in finding a missing woman. She is 75-year-old Juanita Scott. She was last seen on July 2nd at approximately 1:00 pm in the 12000 block of Thompson Road in Bowie.

Ms. Scott is 4’11” and 155 pounds. She was last seen wearing a turquoise,T-shirt with black leggins.

Grand Jury Indicts Suspended Officer

A Prince George’s County grand jury today indicted a suspended Prince George’s County Police officer. Corporal Ivan Mendez faces one count of misconduct in office.

Mendez is accused of providing confidential information to a commercial sex worker who he was paying in exchange for sexual acts. The information he provided focused on an on-going police investigation.

The PGPD was first made aware of the allegations against Mendez on April 1, 2019. He was suspended on April 3, 2019.

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Internal Affairs Division brought its investigation to the State’s Attorney’s Office for consideration of criminal charges.

“It is important for the community to know that once a fellow officer was made aware of the allegations against Mendez, the Internal Affairs Division was immediately notified. The officer’s police powers were then suspended and he remains suspended. We then brought our investigation to the State’s Attorney Office for consideration of charges. All allegations of criminal misconduct by our officers are taken seriously and thoroughly investigated. Officers who break the law have no place in this agency,” said Interim Police Chief Hector Velez.

Mendez joined the PGPD in 2009 and was assigned to the Bureau of Investigation prior to his suspension.

Gran Jurado Acusa a Oficial Suspendido

Hoy, un gran jurado en el Condado de Prince George acusó a un oficial suspendido de la Policía del Condado de Prince George. El Oficial Mendez enfrenta un cargo por Conducta Impropia en sus funciones como oficial.

A Mendez se le acusa de haber provisto información confidencial a una trabajadora sexual a quien éste pagaba a cambio de actos sexuales. La información que éste proveyó estaba relacionada a una investigación policial en curso.

PGPD supo de las alegaciones contra Mendez por primera vez el 1 de abril de 2019. Éste fue suspendido el 3 de abril de 2019.

El Negociado de Asuntos Internos del Departamento de la Policía del Condado de Prince George llevó su investigación ante la Oficina del Fiscal Estatal para evaluar si se presentarían cargos criminales.

“Es importante que la comunidad sepa que una vez otro oficial de la fuerza se enteró de las alegaciones contra Mendez, de inmediato se le notificó al Negociado de Asuntos Internos. Los poderes policiales del oficial fueron suspendidos y éste permanece suspendido. Luego presentamos nuestra investigación a la Oficina del Fiscal Estatal para que evaluaran el sometimiento de cargos. Tomamos en serio e investigamos minuciosamente toda alegación de conducta impropia por parte nuestros oficiales que se nos haga llegar. Los oficiales que violenten la ley no tienen lugar en esta agencia,” precisó el Jefe Interino de la Policía, Hector Velez.

Mendez ingresó en PGPD en el 2009 y estaba asignado al Buró de Investigaciones previo a ser suspendido.

PGPD Investigates Fatal Crash in Landover Involving ATV

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal collision involving an ATV that occurred in Landover on Monday. The operator of the ATV, 26-year-old Larnell Sinclair of Waldorf, was killed.

On June 29th, at approximately 11:40 am, officers responded to the intersection of Landover Road and Matthew Henson Avenue for a collision involving an ATV and a car.

The preliminary investigation revealed Sinclair and the involved car were both heading southbound on Landover Road. The driver of the involved car slowed down in order to make a turn when Sinclair’s ATV collided with the car. The car’s driver was not injured.

PGPD Investiga Mortal Choque de Vehículo Todo-Terreno en Landover

La Unidad de Reconstrucción y Análisis de Choques investiga un mortal choque ocurrido en Landover el lunes, en el cual estuvo involucrado un vehículo todo-terreno (ATV, por sus siglas en inglés). Quien operaba el ATV, Larnell Sinclair, de 26 años de edad y vecino de Waldorf, murió.

El 29 de junio, a eso de las 11:40 am, oficiales de patrulla acudieron a la intersección entre Landover Road y Matthew Henson Avenue tras recibir información sobre un choque entre un ATV y un auto.

La investigación preliminar reveló que Sinclair y el auto involucrado ambos viajaban en dirección sur sobre Landover Road. El conductor del auto disminuyó su velocidad para hacer un viraje cuando el ATV de Sinclair se estrelló contra el vehículo. El conductor del auto no resultó herido.

Detectives Arrest Suspect in Suitland Fatal Shooting

Homicide Unit detectives identified and arrested a man wanted in connection with a fatal shooting early Sunday morning in Suitland. The suspect is 23-year-old Marcus Wardlaw of the 1500 block of Ruston Avenue in Capitol Heights. The victim is 33-year-old Kelvin Alston of Suitland.

On June 28th, at approximately 3:05 am, patrol officers responded to the 2300 block of Brooks Drive for a shooting. When they arrived, officers located the victim inside of a car suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The preliminary investigation revealed the suspect and the victim were known to each other. The fatal shooting stemmed from an on-going dispute.

Wardlaw is charged with first and second degree murder and related charges. He’s in the custody of the Department of Corrections. Wardlaw has admitted his involvement in the crime.

PGPD Investigating Fatal Pedestrian Collision in Camp Springs

Update July 13, 2020: We are continuing to investigate this collision and have learned new information. It’s now believed a total of three vehicles struck the pedestrian. The first striking vehicle remained on the scene. The drivers of the other two vehicles did not. We are asking the community for assistance as we continue to search for those two drivers and their vehicles. The first vehicle that left the scene is described as a white or gold SUV, possibly a Chevrolet. At the time of the collision, it would likely have had minor damage to the lower corner of the front bumper. The second vehicle is a dark-colored sedan, possibly a Toyota. It would also have possible damage to the undercarriage and minor damage to the lower front bumper. Anyone with information is asked to call the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit at 301-731-4422.

Update: The victim in Saturday night’s fatal pedestrian collision is identified as 41-year-old Howard Rich of Clinton. Upon conducting further investigation, our investigators have determined that the second vehicle that struck the victim is a white SUV that was being operated by a female driver at the time of the collision. The vehicle may have minor damage to the bottom right corner of the front bumper.

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred Saturday night. The deceased pedestrian’s name will be released once his family is notified.


On June 27th, at approximately 10:50 pm, patrol officers were called to the 4700 block of Allentown Road for a pedestrian collision. The pedestrian was pronounced dead on the scene.

The preliminary investigation revealed the victim was in the roadway on Allentown Road when he was struck by a car in the northbound lanes. The victim was then struck by a second car a short time later. The driver of the second vehicle did not remain on the scene. Preliminarily, it appears the victim was not in a crosswalk when he was struck.  


Investigators do not have a description of the second vehicle that struck the pedestrian.

Actualización: La víctima del mortal choque peatonal ocurrido el sábado fue identificado como Howard Rich, de 41 años de edad y vecino de Clinton. A raíz de la investigación, los detectives determinaron que el segundo vehículo que impactó a la víctima es una SUV color blanco que era conducida por una mujer al momento del choque. El vehículo podría mostrar daños menores en la parte de abajo del  lado derecho del parachoques superior.


PGPD Investiga Mortal Choque Contra Peatón en Camp Springs

La Unidad de Reconstrucción y Análisis de Choques investiga un mortal choque contra peatón ocurrido el sábado en la noche. El nombre del fenecido peatón será divulgado una vez se logre notificar a sus familiares.

El 27 de junio, a eso de las 10:50 pm, oficiales de patrulla acudieron a la cuadra 4700 de Allentown Road tras recibir información sobre un choque contra un peatón. Al peatón le declararon muerto en la escena.

La investigación preliminar reveló que la víctima se encontraba sobre la carretera en Allentown Road cuando fue impactado por un vehículo que viajaba sobre los carriles en dirección norte. La víctima luego fue impactada por un segundo vehículo poco después. El conductor del segundo vehículo no permaneció en la escena. De manera preliminar, parece ser que la víctima no se encontraba sobre un cruce peatonal cuando fue impactado.

Los detectives no tienen descripción del segundo vehículo que impactó al peatón.
