Five Teenagers Arrested in Connection with Armed Carjacking

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Carjacking Interdiction Unit charged five suspects in connection with a recent armed carjacking in Suitland. The two adult suspects are 18-year-old Qamar Comfort and 18-year-old Iriae Williams. Both are from Washington, DC. A third suspect, a 16-year-old male from Temple Hills, is also charged as an adult. The remaining suspects, a 15-year-old male from Camp Springs and a 14-year-old female from Temple Hills, are charged as juveniles.   

On April 27, 2023, at approximately 12:30 pm, members of the PGPD’s Washington Area Vehicle Enforcement Team observed a recently carjacked car in the 8500 block of Greenbelt Road in Lanham. The car was stolen in an armed carjacking on April 25, 2023, in the 6100 block of Allentown Road in Suitland. WAVE investigators stopped the car and arrested the five occupants. A loaded handgun was recovered inside of the carjacked vehicle. The handgun was reported stolen out of Georgia.

Comfort is charged with armed carjacking. Williams is charged with the unauthorized use of a vehicle. The 16-year-old suspect is charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle and a firearms offense. These three suspects were transported to the Department of Corrections. The 15-year-old suspect is also charged with the unauthorize use of a vehicle and a firearms offense. He was committed to a juvenile detention center. The 14-year-old suspect is charged with the unauthorized use of a vehicle. She was released to her parents.

So far this year, the PGPD has charged 29 adults and 44 juveniles in connection with carjackings.

Suspect in Custody for February Fatal Shooting

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit identified and charged a man for a fatal shooting in February. The suspect is 27-year-old Charles Edwards of Hyattsville. He’s charged with murdering 17-year-old Daiwo Flomo of Riverdale.

On February 11, 2023, at approximately 12:40 am, officers responded to the 7200 block of Parkwood Street in the town of Landover Hills. Officers located the victim inside of a car suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced deceased on the scene.

 

The preliminary investigation revealed the shooting occurred at the intersection of Fairwood Road and Parkwood Street just outside the town of Landover Hills. Following the shooting, the victim, who was driving a car, drove to the 7200 block of Parkwood Street where he crashed. The preliminary investigation revealed the suspect followed the victim’s vehicle in order to confront the occupants who had just approached the suspect as he sat in his car. While following the victim’s car, the suspect opened fire, striking and killing the victim. The suspect and victim were not known to each other.

 

Edwards is charged with first degree murder and additional charges. He is in custody at the Department of Corrections.

Suspects Grab Gaming Chips From MGM National Harbor

Prince George’s County Police investigators are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the individuals who took gaming chips at the MGM National Harbor.

On April 22, 2023, at approximately 1:40 pm, the PGPD’s National Harbor Unit was notified of a theft that occurred at the MGM National Harbor in the 100 block of MGM National Avenue in Oxon Hill. The investigation revealed the pictured suspects entered the casino, grabbed the gaming chips, and then fled.

PGPD Fugitive Squad Takes Suspect Into Custody

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Fugitive Squad arrested a man for reckless endangerment at a restaurant.  He is 24-year-old Josyah Brown of Washington, DC.

On April 4, 2023, at approximately 1:25am, officers responded to a restaurant in the 2900 block of Colebrooke Drive in Hillcrest Heights for a vehicle crash.

The preliminary investigation revealed Brown assaulted an employee inside the business. Brown then drove his tow truck into the building after attempting to hit the victim with the vehicle before fleeing the scene.

Through various investigative techniques, Brown was identified as the suspect and has been taken into custody. He is charged with first- and second-degree assault as well as malicious destruction of property.

PGPD Investigating Fatal Collision in Town of Morningside

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision in the Town of Morningside. The deceased pedestrian is 77-year-old Sally McCoy of Suitland. 

On April 20, 2023, at approximately 3:10 pm, officers responded to the 6500 block of Suitland Road. The preliminary investigation revealed a driver traveling southbound on Suitland Road struck McCoy in the roadway as she attempted to cross the street. McCoy was pronounced deceased on the scene. The driver of the striking vehicle remained on scene and was transported to a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

 

The Prince George’s County Police Department investigates all fatal crashes that occur within the town of Morningside.

PGPD Investigating Fatal Collision in Town of Seat Pleasant

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal collision that occurred Thursday afternoon. The deceased rider is 57-year-old Reginald Thornes of Capitol Heights. 

On April 20, 2023, at approximately 12:10 pm, officers responded to the 6400 block of Central Avenue for a crash involving a motorcycle and a pedestrian.

 

The preliminary investigation revealed Thornes, who was riding a motorcycle, was traveling eastbound on Central Avenue when he collided with a pedestrian who was crossing Central Avenue. Thornes was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The pedestrian suffered serious injuries.

 

The Prince George’s County Police Department investigates all fatal crashes that occur within the town of Seat Pleasant.

PGPD Arrests Suspect in Connection With Carjacking in College Park

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Carjacking Interdiction Unit charged a suspect in connection with a recent carjacking in College Park. The suspect is 20-year-old Juwon Anderson of Washington, DC.

 

On April 19, 2023, at approximately 2:30 pm, officers with the PGPD’s Washington Area Vehicle Enforcement team observed a recently carjacked car in the area of Towne Park Boulevard in Suitland. The car had been carjacked at gunpoint at approximately 1:00 am in the 7400 block of Baltimore Avenue in College Park on Tuesday. Officers stopped the car and arrested Anderson who was the only occupant. A loaded handgun was recovered in the vehicle.



Anderson is charged with the unauthorized use of a vehicle and firearm offenses. He was transported to the Department of Corrections.

PGPD Investigating Fatal Collision in Town of Landover Hills

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal collision that occurred Wednesday night in the town of Landover Hills. The deceased rider is 26-year-old Josue Delgado Delgado of Hyattsville. 

On April 19, 2023, at approximately 8:45 pm, officers with the Landover Hills Police Department responded to the 6100 block of Annapolis Road for a crash involving a motorcycle.

The preliminary investigation revealed the victim, who was riding a motorcycle, struck the back of a car in the eastbound lanes of Annapolis Road. The cause of the collision is under investigation.

Detectives Arrest Suspect in Fatal Shooting

Update September 20, 2023: The Homicide Unit identified and charged a second suspect in this case. She’s 30-year-old Karen Andrade of Silver Spring. She was arrested on Tuesday and transported to the Department of Corrections where she is being held on a no-bond status. She is charged with first and second degree murder and related charges.

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit identified and arrested a man in connection with a recent fatal shooting in the unincorporated section of Hyattsville. The suspect is 28-year-old Alex Quinteros of Takoma Park. He’s charged with the murder of 24-year-old Rudy Perez Gutierrez of Hyattsville. 

On April 14, 2023, at approximately 5:15 pm, officers responded to the 2100 block of Guilford Road for the report of a shooting. Once on scene, officers located Perez Gutierrez and another victim suffering from gunshot wounds. Perez Gutierrez was pronounced deceased on the scene. The second victim suffered injuries not considered life-threatening. 

The preliminary investigation revealed Quinteros shot the victims during a robbery. The suspect and victims were not known to each other. 

Quinteros is charged with first and second degree murder, attempted murder, robbery and related charges. He is in the custody of Department of Corrections on a no bond status.

PGPD Investigating Attempted Armed Carjacking

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Carjacking Interdiction Unit is working to identify the suspects who attempted to carjack a man at gunpoint early this morning in Oxon Hill. The victim was not injured during the incident.

 

On April 18, 2023, at approximately 3:00 am, officers responded to the parking garage at the MGM National Harbor for the report of an attempted armed carjacking.

 

The preliminary investigation revealed a suspect approached the victim in the garage and demanded his vehicle at gunpoint. The victim and suspect got into a physical struggle during which the suspect’s gun fired one round. No one was struck. The suspect then got back into the car he arrived in and fled the area. The victim’s vehicle was not stolen.

Two Suspects in Custody in Connection with Armed Carjacking; Five Firearms Recovered

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Carjacking Interdiction Unit charged two men in connection with a recent armed carjacking in District Heights. The suspects are 21-year-old Terrell Talley and 18-year-old Marquette Staton. Both suspects are from Alexandria, VA.

 

On April 16, 2023, at approximately 5:50 pm, Prince George’s County Police patrol officers responded to assist officers with the Fairfax County Police Department who had pursued a vehicle that was reported carjacked on Silver Hill Road in District Heights on April 9, 2023.  The pursuit ended on the outer loop of the Beltway prior to Branch Avenue. The occupants of the vehicle bailed out and ran. Two of the suspects – Staton and Talley – were arrested without incident a short time later. Two additional suspects remain outstanding.






Five firearms were recovered from inside of the carjacked vehicle. The Prince George’s County Police Department charged Staton with the initial carjacking in District Heights as well as firearms offenses. PGPD detectives charged Talley with the unauthorized use of a vehicle and firearms offenses. They are both in the custody of the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections.
