Detectives to Canvass Suitland Neighborhood in Homicide Investigation

This evening, detectives with our Homicide Unit will canvass a Suitland neighborhood to gather information in the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Douglas Brooks.

On August 21st, at about 1:05 am, patrol officers were called to the 3600 block of Parkway Terrace Drive for a shooting. They found Brooks outside suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene. 

Detectives are working to identify a motive in this case. The canvass is expected to begin at 6:00 pm in the 4500 block of  Silver Hill Road.

Anyone with information on this fatal shooting is asked to please call our Homicide Unit at 301-772-4925. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
