​ PGPD Investigating Fatal Pedestrian Collision

 The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision. The identity of the deceased pedestrian, a male, will be released once his family is notified.   

On May 4, 2024, at approximately 11:00 pm, officers responded to the area of New Hampshire Avenue and Lebanon Street in the unincorporated section of Hyattsville for a collision involving a pedestrian. Once on scene, officers located the pedestrian in the roadway suffering from trauma. He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased a short time later.


The preliminary investigation revealed the involved driver struck the pedestrian in the northbound lanes of New Hampshire Ave. The driver remained on the scene. He was not injured.
