PGPD Arrests Suspect in Fatal Shooting

The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a now fatal shootingThe suspect is 41-year-old Christopher Reid of Seat Pleasant. He’s charged with shooting 35-year-old Keith Maurice Thomas of Capitol Heights.


On October 1, 2025, at approximately 2:00 pm, officers responded to a shooting in the 6300 block of Seat Pleasant Drive
 in the unincorporated section of Seat Pleasant. Officers located Thomas inside of a business suffering from gunshot wounds. He died of his injuries on October 3, 2025.

 

Officers located and took Reid into custody near the scene of the shooting. Gun Crimes Unit detectives initially charged him with attempted first degree murder and related charges. Investigators are in consultation with the State’s Attorney’s Office to have the charges amended to first and second degree murder and related charges. The preliminary investigation revealed the suspect and victim were known to each other. The motive for this fatal shooting remains under investigation.

 

Reid is in the custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.
